Dorset-based picture framing workshop, located on Portland, near Weymouth

The Island Gallery framing workshop has been a part of the Island since 1992. We are 2nd generation picture framers with experience in framing a huge variety of items - in a wide selection of mouldings and mount colours - ranging from Olympic sailing bibs to a famous Hollywood actor's Calvin Kleins!

Just about everything - from watercolours and tapestries to medals and photographs - can be framed in our framing workshop at very competitive prices.

Here is a selection of items that we can frame -

Watercolours - Oil paintings - Charcoals - Acrylics - Tapestry & Needlework - Limited edition prints - Photographs

Jigsaw puzzles - Etchings - Cigarette cards - Sports shirts - Medals - Box framed items - Posters - Musical instruments

We always try to frame in ways that are 'reversible' and we always use conservation framing methods, in accordance the Fine Art Trade Guild guidelines. If required, we can also frame to museum standards using UV Artglass and rag mountboards.

Picture Framing - Hand Finishes

We offer a wide selection of plain wood mouldings which can be left natural - ash, oak and maple look fantastic with just a wax finish - or limed and waxed to bring out the grain of these woods.

We also have woods that can be stained or painted with Farrow and Ball colours or we can use a Pantone chart to mix just the colour you want!

Call into the framing workshop to see our range of mouldings and finishes and ideas ... and be inspired!

Opening times - Thursday & Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9.30am to 4pm
